Tilda's Garden Blooms and Friends

Good evening all. I find it's hard to find time for crafting in the summer, too many outside chores to do... I am sure many of you feel the same way. Tonight I have a scene card to show you, hopefully you are not bored by another scene card from me. I made this card a few weeks ago and thought I will post it when it's closer to the summer or when the school is out.

This gatefold card measures about 6 3/4" (W) x 5 3/4" (H) when it's closed. I used 11 Magnolia stamps for this card. You are invited to visit Tilda's garden and her friends. Rufus the dog and birdie greet you at the gate.

Once you are inside the garden, Edwin, Tilda and her friends are all waiting for you to join in the fun.

The images were colored with Copic markers. I attached a strip of diecut grass in the foreground and added a couple of folds in the strip for a more 3D look.

I cut out some buntings/pennants and hand wrote "Have a sunny day" on the buntings.

I used cardstock from Stampin'Up, DP from Magnolia and Memory Box, dies from Magnolia (dragonflies and grass) and Memory Box (birdcage). I also used Martha Steward's punch to punch out the samll butterflies.

Well, one more thing. Thank you all for your generous comments on my previous posts and hope you enjoy this visit and have a sunny day tomorrow and everyday.

Summer Ball Invitation- Crafty Individuals

Good afternoon bloggers. Finally got some yard work done this morning while we had some sunny breaks. Now it's back to cloudy again, hopefully it stays dry till I get all my planting finished.

Anyhow, back to my craft mode. Crafty Individual's June challenge is "A Summer's Ball" theme, it is up to your own interpretation and you must use one of their products. I have a few CI stamps in my stash; CI 346- dancing lady is one of their newer releases and it's one of my favourite CI stamps. I made a dance invitation using this stamp.

This criss cross card measures about 4 1/4" x 5 1/2". I used a compas to draw the criss cross flaps. I top stitched and distressed all the paper edges with ink and distressing tool.

I stamped 2 images and colored the dancing lady with Copic markers. I fussy cut out one of the images and used it to decorate the invitation folder.

The stamp image has the dance program listed on the right hand side. I used a Spellbinder Romantic Rectangle die to cut out the stamp image and layer it over DP and cardstock and completed the tag with lace, ribbon, pearl string and a rose.  The tag can be used as a bookmark.

I sprinkled some glitters on the dress but they don't show well in the pictures. I decorated the invitation folder with lace, diecuts, pearls, ribbon and paper roses. I also added a Tim Holtz small easel diecut to the back of the folder so it can stand up for display.

So, that;s it for today. I am ready for an afternoon tea now.

Tilda's Underwater Adventure

Good afternoon. Big hugs to my new followers and thank you all for visiting my blog and leaving me lovely comments, they really inspire me.

Today I am showing you another matchbox project, an underwater scene depicting Tilda's underwater adventure and her surprise finding. I really enjoy making scene cards lately. It's a good way to use my stamps that have been bagging me to use them, lol. It took me awhile to make this one, adding a few bits every day, kind of fun actually.

I used Spellbinder Label 10 die to cut out the 3 oval cardstock and DP. I top stitched the DP and distressed the paper edges. The matchboxes were made from Stampin'Up retired matchbox diecuts. Once the base was built, I added several stamp images to make the underwater scene. Stamps used here are:
  • Magnolia: mini Swimming Tilda, mini Mermaid Tilda, Mermaid Tilda, and Oyster with Pearl
  • Stampin'Up: Crab and Company
  • Our Craft Lounge: Bubbles and Sea-sons Greeting

I colored the images with Copic markers.  All images were fussy cut out and then paper pieced onto the base. I wanted the oyster with pearl to look more 3 dimensional, so I stamped the image 3 times and paper pieced the layers together with 3D foam dots. I covered the pearl with glitter and added some Flower Soft sand around the sandy base. I made some paper-rolled flowers to make them look like sea anemones. I decorated the ocean base with some cheese cloth, crystals, and a pearl string.

I completed the project by adding a Magnolia swirl diecut to the background, a small heart shape card with a mini mermaid Tilda which fits in one of the matchbox drawers, and some pearls and pom pom ribbons on both sides of the matchboxes .

For the crab, I stamped the image and sponged it lightly with Rusty Hinge Distress Ink. I then ran the paper through my Big Shot with an embossing folder. I sponged the paper again with Fired Brick DI and then fussy cut out the image.

Thanks very much for stopping by, and wish you all a wonderful week.

Welcome Summer with Garden Fairy

Good evening and welcome to my blog. I made a card on the weekend using CLP (Crafting Life's Pieces) June layout with a garden fairy image. I am hoping with magic this fairy will bring us some nice summer weather in Vancouver. We have not had any decent weather lately, it's been rainy and cold.

The stamp is from Crafter's Companion- Fairyopolis Summer Collection. I colored it with Copic markers. The DP is from Memory Box. The cardstock is from SU, I used the same paper to make the larger rose. The DP and cardstock color is actually more like eggplant than indigo; not sure why it doesn't show the true color in the photo. I lightly dusted the wings and the dress with glitters. I added more MB DP for the inside of the card.

Thanks for stopping by and have a good week.

A Birthday Celebration- Daisy Tilda

Good evening all.  Have been busy with work and house chores, didn't get to craft all week. Sometimes it is nice to have a break to refresh my brain. Today I combined the following challenge themes and came up with this Tilda with Daisy birthday card.
The cardbase has a narrow shadow box which can be folded flat for mailing. I have put 2 Tilda images (1 on the card and 1 on the tag), 2 dogs, 2 birds, and 2 butterfly diecuts on this card.  It took me awhile to make this card but I thoroughly enjoyed making it.

Thanks very much for stopping by and wish you all a wonderful day tomorrow.
